Prof. Malyugin successfully balances scientific work and teaching activities, educating and training young professionals, delivering lectures and conducting instructional courses.
Apart from educational activities at the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institute, he also holds the position of Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology of the A. Evdokimov Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. More than 40 young ophthalmologists have done their PhD research under the direct guidance and supervision of Prof. Malyugin.
For a number of years, Boris Malyugin has been involved in training activities carried out at courses and wet labs organized during the annual congresses of the European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, as well as at the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Prof. Malyugin teaches at the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology, ESASO (Lugano, Switzerland).
As a visiting professor, he has delivered lectures and performed live educational surgeries at the John A. Moran Eye Center (USA, 2011); Stanford University (USA, 2012); New York Eye and Ear Infirmary (USA, 2013); Oxford Eye Hospital (UK, 2014); Department of Ophthalmology Ben Gurion University (Israel, 2016); Wills Eye Hospital (USA, 2018); Pacific Medical Center (USA, 2020).
